Finnlines nominated as the Logistics Company of the Year
24. May 2023
The Turku Chamber of Commerce and the Southwest Finland district of Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics, LOGY, award every other year a recognition to the logistics company of the year. In 2023 Finnlines was elected as winner.
There were many reasons for the decision, for example Finnlines offers increased capacity for freight and passengers and can offer several departures a day between Finland and Sweden. Finnlines was praised to have invested in new, environmentally friendly freight-passenger ships and the connection to Sweden is critical to Southwest Finland. Today, all actions to ensure the security of supply are welcomed and shipping is vital to Finland.
“We are delighted by the recognition and proud of our role in supporting Finnish foreign trade and ensuring the security of supply. During the last few years Finnlines has made massive investments in environmentally friendly technology and the company has renewed its fleet. The new ro-pax vessels, which will enter traffic during the autumn, will increase freight and passenger capacity greatly on the Naantali–Långnäs–Kapellskär,” says Staffan Herlin, Commercial Director at Finnlines.
The prize was handed out on 23 May.
Finnlines is a leading shipping operator of freight and passenger services in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the Bay of Biscay. The company is a part of the Grimaldi Group, one of the world’s largest operators of ro-ro vessels and the largest operator of the Motorways of the Sea in Europe for both passengers and freight. This affiliation enables Finnlines to offer liner services to and from several destinations in the Mediterranean, West Africa, Atlantic coast of both North and South America as well as Asia and Australia.
