Education and comptence
The education of seafaring in Finland stands on two levels, the secondary level and polytechnic level of education. A sufficient amount of skilled seafarers also serves the needs of the maritime cluster. The maritime cluster employs about 50 000 people in Finland and indirectly up to 500 000 people. The Finnish Shipowners’ Association is actively part of developing the seafaring education in Finland.
